Fruit Logistica has announced Alexander Stein as its new director, effective 1 February 2025.

He will oversee the strategic direction of the trade fair, which runs from 5-7 February in Berlin this year. Stein takes over from Kai Mangelberger, who now leads the newly established Mobility Division.
With over two decades of experience in international trade fair and event management, Stein most recently led event operations at the ZBI Group, a subsidiary of Union Investment. Before that, he held a senior leadership role at NürnbergMesse, where he played a key part in the development of major B2B exhibitions.
During his tenure at NürnbergMesse, he contributed to BioFach, the world’s leading trade fair for organic products, first as deputy project manager and later as head of the building and construction department. His expertise spans strategic planning, sales development, and the expansion of both digital and hybrid events.
Reflecting on his new role, Stein stated: “In my previous posts I was able to gain valuable experience at international level and got to know the trade fair industry from various perspectives – from both the organisers’ and exhibitors’ point of view.”
“I want to use that knowledge to further strengthen Fruit Logistica as an important meeting place for existing and future partners and as an important source of inspiration and driver of innovation for the fruit and vegetable industry.”
Fruit Logistica showcases the entire fresh produce supply chain, from seed development to retail. With more than 2,600 exhibitors from over 90 countries across 26 exhibition halls, it remains a key global platform for the fresh fruit and vegetable sector.
