In a bid to enhance children's health across the UK, Olympic champion Greg Rutherford has partnered with Innocent Drinks to spearhead a nationwide campaign.
The initiative, dubbed 'Innocent's Crushing It Summer Games', aims to foster healthier eating habits from a young age.
The games are scheduled to take place in the Olympic Park in Stratford.
Families can join in on this free event any time between 9am and 5pm, using sporty contraptions designed to blend their very own fruit and veg smoothies.
The line-up of attractions feature a blender-bicycle, a banana boat-making rowing machine, and a fresh orange juice dispensing basketball hoop.
Delving into the difficulties of encouraging children to maintain a healthy diet, Greg voiced: "As a father, I know first-hand how tricky it can be to get children eating healthily - and I'm not alone."
Rutherford, a father of three and a long-time advocate for fitness and nutrition, emphasised the campaign’s importance. "Introducing kids to the joys of growing their own food is a fantastic way to get them excited about eating more fruit and veg," he said. "It's not just about improving their diet; it's about instilling lifelong healthy habits."
Public health experts have praised the initiative, noting the alarming statistics about children's diets in the UK. According to recent studies, only 18% of children aged 5-15 consume the recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables per day.
The 'Innocent's Crushing It Summer Games' campaign seeks to address this issue by making healthy eating more accessible and engaging.
By championing this cause, Greg Rutherford and Innocent Drinks are planting the seeds for a healthier future.
