Veg Power Welcomes Two Key Recruits to Boost UK Veg Consumption Campaigns

Veg Power, the not-for-profit alliance on a mission to increase vegetable consumption across the UK, has kicked off the year by strengthening its team with two pivotal new hires.

Rachel Nunns, a former primary school headteacher, and Alex Tyrie, a seasoned digital marketing expert, have joined the organisation to expand and enhance its impactful projects.

Nunns brings extensive education and management expertise to Veg Power’s schools team, while Tyrie, with over 25 years of experience, steps in as Campaign Director. Tyrie’s role focuses on leading Veg Power’s content for parents and fostering partnerships to ensure their messaging reaches families nationwide.

Veg Power already runs two acclaimed initiatives in primary schools. The award-winning Eat Them to Defeat Them campaign, now in its seventh year, has inspired 1.7 million children in over 5,000 schools to embrace vegetables. Another flagship programme, Growing to Love, encourages kids to grow tomatoes while learning about food origins, sparking interest in healthy eating. Last year alone, it engaged 21,000 children across 375 schools in the UK.

Dan Parker, Chief Executive of Veg Power, praised the new appointments, saying:

“Our two new recruits are exciting new additions to our core team. Both Rachel and Alex bring mountains of valuable skills and experience that will have a tremendous impact on our work and help Veg Power to continue to increase the UK’s veg consumption.”

With these key hires, Veg Power looks set to scale its reach and continue driving positive change in the way families and children engage with vegetables.
